Don’t Want to Go Alone?

Embarking on a cross-Atlantic adventure can stir up a cocktail of emotions, and the fear of being alone is a potent ingredient. But fear not! Your solo journey doesn’t have to be a solitary affair, nor does it mean sacrificing your thirst for adventure. Regardless of your budget or age, there’s a perfect travel solution awaiting you. There are three big options for traveling alone. I’m sure one will work for you!

Firstly, consider reaching out to friends or family to join you on your next trip. Finding a travel buddy can alleviate the anxiety of solo travel immensely. Online communities on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Reddit are teeming with individuals seeking travel companions, making it easier than ever to explore the world in good company. Making friends who are also interested in traveling will take the stress off of traveling alone.

Some of us, myself included, might be a *little* too introverted to find friends to travel with – that just might not be our cup of tea. That’s why there are fantastic travel tour groups that can give you the most amazing experiences. Now, before you groan, tours are not just for the older population where you have to sit and bird watch. There are travel tour groups for everyone no matter of age or budget. Tours give you the flexibility of being able to see the world with the safety we need and still be able to go on the most epic adventures.

Some of my favorite tour groups are Intrepid Travel, G Adventures  and Gate 1 Travel. Each tour company offers a variety of different trips for different budgets in different areas of the globe. From National Geographic Trip to Machu Picchu with G Adventures to India and Nepal Highlights with Intrepid. There is a trip in there for everyone. I want to directly point out G Adventures though due to a program that they have for 18 – 30 something year olds. This program goes on many of the same trips but is made for those who are Gen-Z or Millennials but the even better part is that they are typically more cost effective than other trips. Sometimes, this does mean that you give up comfort in lodging or you take a bus instead of a train but these trips are still impeccable and they solve a solution for those who are 18- to late 30s who want to travel but want something affordable. As we, all do. The G-Adventures trips offer cost effective options for international travel to everyone and to almost anywhere. You can find trips for less than $2,000 a person and they usually always have a sale going on so you can get the trips even cheaper than what they are traditional listed for.

Not, into the tour idea? Cruises are another great way to see the world. This offers you a little more freedom instead of than with a group while you can be on you own while cruising but still have the safety and even the adventure that you want. A big misconception is that cruises just go to the Bahamas. This is not true – you are able to actually take a cruise anywhere in the world to see anything you may want. Want to see the glaciers in Alaska – you can take a cruise. Want to visit the most notable Mediterranean sites including Istanbul, Athens, Cairo, Venice taking a cruise might be a great option for you.  The downside to cruises is that they are typically for the older generation and many are geared towards kids but there are awesome options that you can look into that will be able to give you what you are looking for. While you may not get as much freedom in each area you go because you are on the timeline of the ship you will be able to take day tour excursions from the ship and be able to still see so much! Another great part of the cruise is you have everything in one spot – food, your room, pool, gym, entertainment – you won’t go bored no matter where you visit!

So, whether you opt for a guided tour or set sail on a cruise ship, don’t let the fear of solo travel deter you from fulfilling your wanderlust. The world awaits – let’s embark on this adventure together!

Let’s go!
